And so far, it’s my only piece in a museum… appropriately enough, the RISD Museum in Providence RI. The Apparel Design department’s Collection ’66 was a surprising success for me. Of the six garments I crafted for the senior show, the evening dress featured in today’s post was one of two garments chosen that year for inclusion in the RISD Museum’s costume collection, an annual tradition dating back to the foundation of the department. Seen in two views: back-stage and on the runway, modeled by fellow student Amy van Gilder. The dress was the result of a collaboration between the Apparel and Textile Design departments.
