2012. Summer in the City was the theme chosen for the DaVinci Art Alliance’s annual July members exhibition. My thoughts turned to a series of photos I had taken of some roofers working on top of one of the row-houses right in my sight-line of the Big Four. After a little research in my photo files, plus some photoshop work and a bit of sketching, I came up with the composition for todays painting, which only took a few sessions in early June.
Since I could enter a second artwork in this show, I choose a recent painting from a series I had started some time before: These Are a Few of My Favorite Things (i.e. Body Parts). This particular one is Barefoot in the Park, oil on linen, 18″ x 18″ • collection of the artist $
