September, late summer shortly before the equinox, I was working in the studio on the third floor, the doors to the roof deck wide open, a day of bright sun with big puffy white clouds sidling though an azure sky, lovely temperate breezes coursing through the studio – didn’t even have to turn on the air conditioning to keep the studio comfortable, so it was extra quiet – an ideal day to spend painting. However instead of working on a piece already begun, I decided to try my hand at a second painting of the skyline looking towards Center City. An easel was already set up right beside the doors leading outside, so it was an easy, delightful session. Virtual plein air painting, with all the conveniences of home.
