Painted in the attic of Kate’s home in Springfield, Vermont, this view of the hill directly behind the house is seen through two layers of windows. The mysterious darkness of the interior highlights the straight-forward exterior world of bright natural light with its luxurious plant life growing in all directions. Commenced in the late summer of 2011, I added finished touches to the piece while in Vermont in June 2012.
