Painted 6.28.2012 while on vacation in Springfield Vermont, at Kate Suchmann’s, my home-away-from-home. The view into the back garden from the library, with a conscious choice to virtually ignore the interior details of the room, in order to focus on what was truly important to my inner eye — the Great Outside in Summertime… Mother Nature in her beneficient mode… empty chairs just waiting for myself, or Kate, or whoever, to stop doing what they’re doing inside, to go outside, relax, and enjoy the fullness.
